Privacy Policy

Last updated 6 July 2026

This policy explains what personal data UK AI Jobs collects, why, and what rights you have. UK AI Jobs is the data controller for that data. We process it in line with UK data-protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

1. What we collect

  • Account details. Your email address and a password. Passwords are hashed and managed by our authentication provider — we never see or store them in plain text.
  • Your preferences. Saved searches and email-alert settings you create (category, keywords, remote flag, frequency).
  • Billing data. If you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment details and gives us a customer reference, your plan, and your subscription status. We never receive or store your card number.
  • Technical data. Standard server and security logs (such as IP address and request metadata) generated when you use the site.

The job listings on the site describe roles at other organisations and are not your personal data.

2. Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To provide the service — run your account, remember your saved searches, and unlock Pro features (legal basis: performance of our contract with you).
  • To take payment — process subscriptions and lifetime purchases and prevent fraud (contract, and our legitimate interest in getting paid and preventing abuse).
  • To send email alerts you’ve asked for, and essential service messages such as sign-in and billing emails (consent for alerts, which you can withdraw any time; contract for essential messages).
  • To keep the service secure and working — logging, debugging and abuse prevention (legitimate interests).

3. Who processes it for us

We keep the list of suppliers small and use reputable providers who act as our processors:

  • Supabase — authentication and database (hosted in the UK/EU region).
  • Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
  • Stripe — payment processing and billing.
  • Resend — sending transactional and alert emails.

We don’t sell your personal data, and we don’t share it for anyone else’s advertising. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, that transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.

4. Cookies

We use only essential cookies — the ones that keep you signed in and keep your session secure. We don’t use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, so there’s no cookie consent banner to click through.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account and preference data for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account we remove your personal data, except where we need to keep limited records to meet legal or accounting obligations (for example, Stripe retains transaction records as required by law). Server logs are kept for a short period and then rotated.

6. Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you can:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct or delete it;
  • ask us to restrict or object to certain processing;
  • ask for your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent to email alerts at any time — every alert has an unsubscribe link.

To exercise any of these, email support@ukaijobs.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), a managed database with access controls, and a payment processor that handles card data to PCI standards so it never touches our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

8. Changes

We’ll update this policy if our practices change and revise the date above. Significant changes will be highlighted where appropriate.

9. Contact

For anything about your data or this policy, email support@ukaijobs.co.uk.
